The world of ballet is beautiful and complex. There are so many extraordinary aspects of ballet, and for young dancers, this landscape can be challenging to navigate at times. Many conditions and concepts are introduced at an early age: rigorous training and commitment, a variety of pedagogies, nutrition and health, injury prevention and rehabilitation, competition and institutional culture, peak mindset and performance, and life/dance balance. As a developing person and dancer, it is important to recognize, understand, and reconcile these topics in constructive ways.
Consequently, I am creating a forum called Talking Pointe. In crafting this nonprofit, my goal is to support a community of dancers and embark on a constructive dialogue. These discussions will endeavor to frame themes, conceive best practices, and pursue effective courses of action.
